BNQ’s International Activities with ISO/TC 197  Hydrogen Technologies
 
Hydrogen Industry Survey

Dear Madam or Sir,

ISO/TC 197 is looking for input to better serve the stakeholders of the hydrogen industry. The purpose of this survey is to assess the needs of the hydrogen industry in the area of codes and standards. All interested parties (manufacturers, users, regulatory authorities, laboratories, etc) are invited to fill in the attached survey.

The responses will be used to update the ISO/TC 197 business plan. Please take a few minutes to let us know your opinion. An executive summary will be returned to your attention once all the data is compiled.

 

 
The secretariat of ISO/TC 197 is held by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec. The ISO/TC 197 is a technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is responsible for work related to hydrogen technologies.

The statement regarding the ISO/TC 197’s field of work reads as follows: "Standardization in the field of systems and devices for the production, storage, transport, measurement and use of hydrogen."

Work Program

Ms. Sylvie Gingras (Sylvie.Gingras@bnq.qc.ca) acts as the secretary of this technical committee. It is chaired by Mr. Randy Dey (rdey@ccsglobalgroup.com) of the CCS Global Group Inc.

BNQ’s Canadian Activities with ISO/TC 197  Hydrogen Technologies

In addition to ensuring the secretariat of the ISO/TC 197 international technical committee, the BNQ also coordinates the activities of the Canadian advisory committee CAC/ISO/TC 197. This committee is responsible for determining Canadian priorities and making recommendations regarding which directions the international standardization work should take when it comes to the field of hydrogen technologies.

Mr. Jim Ferrero (Jim.Ferrero@bnq.qc.ca) is responsible for coordinating the activities of the CAC/ISO/TC 197. This committee is chaired by Dr. Andrei Tchouvelev of Stuart Energy Systems.

 
 
BNQ’s International Activities with ISO/TC 34/WG9  Tracability System
The BNQ is a full member of the International Working Group ISO/TC/WG9 " Tracability system in the agricultural food chain - General principles for design and development " and it's Canadian consultative mirror committee CAC/ISO/TC34/WG9.

Activities of these committees are related to the Draft ISO/CD 22519 " Tracability in feed and food chain - General principles and guidance for system design an development ".

This standard specifies the principles and the requirements for design development and implementation of a food traceability system. It can be applied to the whole or part of the food chain.

Mr. Sylvain Allard (sylvain.allard@bnq.qc.ca) is our standards agent member of these committees.

 
 
BNQ's International Activities with ISO/TC34/WG8 Food safety
The BNQ is a full member of the International Working Group ISO/TC34/WG8. The International WG 8 is the expert group of TC34, the technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is responsible for work related to food safety management systems. BNQ is also a member of the Canadian consultative mirror committees CAC/ISO/TC34 (Food Products) and the CAC/ISO/TC 34/WG8 (Food Safety).

The activities of these committees are related to the Draft ISO/CD 22 000 "Food safety management systems – Requirements for organizations throughout the food chain”.

This standard specifies the requirements to enable an organization to plan, implement, maintain and update a food safety management system aimed at providing end products that according to its intended use will ensured that the food, when eaten, are safe for the consumers.

Ms. Christine Dupuis (christine.dupuis@bnq.qc.ca), BNQ HACCP Certification Program Manager, is the representative of BNQ of these committees.
 
 
International Cooperation in Tunisia

With the support of the « Fonds de développement du secteur privé » in Tunisia of Canadian International Development Agency, the BNQ cooperate with the « Institut national de normalisation et de la propriété intellectuelle » (INORPI) for the implementation of a HACCP Certification Program. The INORPI is the Tunisia National Standard Organization.
