May 14-22, 2009, the Bureau de normalisation du
Québec (BNQ) will be hosting the ISO Working group
on Social Responsibility, for the very first time in
a French-speaking environment. The group, made up of
400 experts from over 80 countries, will meet at the
Centre des congrès de Québec to continue developing
the ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility
Standard. —

BNQ/AFNOR cooperation 2006
- Supported by the " 60e commission permanente de coopération franco-québécoise
(2005 et 2006) ", the third collaboration mission
of a delegation from AFNOR France has taken
place at the BNQ from October 16 to October 20
2006. This mission has involved various
specialists and institutional partners of the BNQ regarding many standardization issues such
as those related to the sustainable development
and the ISO 22000 certification applicable in
the context of smart regulation and to support
quality processes. All the presentation are

The magazine of the Association québécoise du
transport et des routes (AQTR)
They dedicated its Spring 2004
edition to standardization. The BNQ participated
in the edition by preparing an article that explains their
contribution to standards development and certification
in the field of urban infrastructure. This article has a
good summary of the BNQ activities and processes concerning
infrastructure works.
The Association québécoise du transport et des routes (www.aqtr.qc.ca)
has today close to 1 000 members, from engineers to users of
transport, including all of the range of specialists coming from
the private and public sector. The mission of the AQTR is to
mobilize the transport sector in order to encourage both the
exchange of knowledge and training in this field.

Recognition of the training and experience
of professionals in food service industry
The Bureau de
normalisation du Québec (BNQ) offers a new certification
program for cooks, pastrycooks, chefs and pastry chefs so
they can, on a continuous basis, have their training,
experience and ability recognized in relation to a normative
document developed for their profession.
