Terms of Sale

The BNQ’s policy excludes any possibility of refunding the costs of acquisition of documents of any nature, and their exchange, unless the person who acquired them is able to prove there was an error on the part of the BNQ.

Terms for paper and PDF versions (non-network)

The purchased copy of the document, whether it is used in electronic format or printed, is intended only for personal use. The number of copies printed therefore must not exceed the number of copies purchased. Any distribution to third parties, partners, clients or customers and any saving, distribution or use on a computer network are prohibited, unless a special agreement has been made between the registered buyer and the BNQ.

Terms for network PDF versions

This electronic copy is intended for installation on an internal network. Simultaneous access to the document is limited to 5 workstations. Only one or more additional backup copies are permitted according to the buyer’s internal security procedures. Personal work copies may be printed by the readers-users of the document. Any other use, particularly additional recording (saving), sending or distribution of the electronic document to third partners, partners, clients or customers, is prohibited, unless a special agreement has been made between the registered buyer and the BNQ.

Only a buyer duly registered with the BNQ’s Customer Service receives the updates of the document. The notifications and the catalogue may be viewed at any time on the BNQ website to verify the existence of a more recent edition of a document or the publication of changes or errata. A registered buyer who wishes to continue receiving the updates must inform BNQ Customer Service of any change of address as soon as possible.

Standards under review

A standard "Under review" means that the BNQ is establishing whether it should be revised, reaffirmed or withdrawn. It is still possible to purchase a standard under review, but you must then account for the fact that its contents are no longer updated until the next stage of the standard is determined ("To be revised", "To be reaffirmed" or "To be withdrawn").

Documents withdrawn

Withdrawal of documents signifies that the BNQ no longer assumes responsibility for these documents. The BNQ no longer updates or guarantees the quality and relevance of document contents in relation to acknowledged rules of technology in the fields at issue. Consequently, the BNQ is no longer able to guarantee that document contents continue to correspond to present-day market requirements.

Other terms

Please note that special agreements concerning registered booksellers, educational institutions and our partners, the discounts for large-volume purchases and the tax exemptions for government departments, public bodies and other provinces cannot be honoured in the case of an online purchase.

The electronic version is sent to the email address provided by the buyer as soon as possible, which quickly facilitates the credit check.
