Standard ASTM F894 Standard Specification for Polyethylene (PE) Large Diameter Profile Wall Sewer and Drain Pipe
To ensure pipe uniformity and quality, many factors must be taken into account. ASTM F894 establishes requirements and test methods for materials, dimensions, fabrication, ring stiffness constant testing, flattening, assembly techniques and marking for large diameter profile polyethylene (PE), 250 mm to 3355 mm (10 inches to 132 inches), smooth interior wall sewer and drain pipe.
ASTM F894 is a U.S. standard recognized across North America. The BNQ is the only organization that certifies the products covered by the standard. The BNQ program is based on four documents, including BNQ certification protocol 3624-907. BNQ protocol 3624-907 establishes the certification requirements, procedural rules and marking requirements applicable to the certification of polyethylene (PE) large diameter closed profile smooth interior wall sewer and drain pipe to the requirements of ASTM F894. It is intended for pipe manufacturers interested in obtaining recognition from the BNQ that their pipe is compliant and for clients interested in the certification protocol. To have their pipes certified, manufacturers must show their compliance with the certification program requirements. Note that to meet the needs specified by contract givers, the BNQ restricts pipe certification to closed profile pipe, 250 mm [10 in.] to 3355 mm [132 in.].
This certification program is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada.
