Standard BNQ 3624-130 Unplasticized Poly(Vinyl Chloride) [PVC-U] Pipe and Fittings - Pipes of 150 mm in Diameter or Smaller
Standard BNQ 3624-130 defines the requirements for the dimensions, properties and testing methods for certain pipe that is divided into two categories of rigidity, as well as their rigid fittings, manufactured from PVC compositions and intended to be buried and used for gravity flow wastewater systems. It applies to smooth wall, non-perforated rigid pipe and fittings or nominal diameter equal to or less than 150 mm, equipped with sockets for glued assembly or for dismountable assembly using rubber seal rings. BNQ 3624-130 deals more specifically with sewer pipelines, branch connections and collectors connected to the municipal sewer system, sewer pipelines installed under buildings and effluent pipelines installed outside buildings.
In addition, BNQ 3624-130 applies to perforated pipe with the piercing pattern given in the standard and used for building drainage to reduce the risk of the formation of rust deposits.

Certification Offer
Manufacturers may ask the BNQ to recognize the conformance of their pipes and fittings with BNQ 3624-130. To obtain certification of their products, the manufacturers must prove they comply with the standard’s requirements.
General requirements:
Requirements related to thermoplastic (PVC)
General characteristics of the pipes and fittings
Assembly
Special requirements:
Dimensional characteristics, including the location and dimensions of the perforations for pipes intended to reduce the risk of formation of ochre deposits
Mechanical characteristics (rigidity, crush and shock resistance, tightness of joints and quality of fusion bonding of co-extruded multiple smooth wall pipes)
Chemical resistance
Solar radiation protection
Verification of the PVC extrusion quality of the pipes
Verification of the moulding quality of PVC fittings
Marking and handling
This certification program is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada.
